Caviness & Cates Wins STAR Award for Best Website

Caviness & Cates Communities was recently awarded Best Website for a Builder by the North Carolina Home Builders Association, at their annual STARS Awards gala. The Awards dinner was a showcase event at the 21st Century Building Expo and Conference, held at the Hilton Charlotte Center City Hotel on September 14th.

The STARS Awards are held to honor the strengths and achievements of major contributors to the residential home building industry in North Carolina and surrounding areas. With nearly 50 entrant categories, the winners, chosen by members of the NCHABA, read like a Who’s Who of across the state.

At Caviness & Cates prides we pride ourselves on being accessible to Homebuyers, Homeowners and Realtors. Our website is no exception. Homebuyers are increasingly using the Internet as a deciding factor when purchasing a new home, which is why we feel that the time and effort into the maintaining of the site is so important.

Our challenge as a regional builder was to provide a clean, simple and interactive resource where information about our company and our properties could be easily accessed. In the first quarter of 2010, we expanded our traditional website to include a mobile version in order to provide people on the go with quick and convenient access. Users can view all neighborhoods, inventory, available home plans, news and more! We are honored to be recognized by our peers in the NCHBA, and proud that they allowed us to highlight this achievement.

For BIG Energy Savings, Just Look for the Label!

With our Energy Plus Program, all our new homes are designed and built to provide greater energy efficiency, comfort and cost savings!

Caviness & Cates ENERGY PLUS Qualified homes are designed and built to provide greater energy efficiency and comfort. What does that mean?

Lowered cost of ownership and energy bills. The EPA's ENERGY PLUS standards require the home to be at least 15% more efficient than typical code built homes ( 2004 International Residential Code (IRC) and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20-30% more efficient than standard homes.

How you benefit from a Caviness & Cates ENERGY PLUS qualified home:

Greater Comfort: ENERGY PLUS standards improve overall comfort through minimizing uneven temperatures, more effectively distributing air and better regulating temperature and humidity variations.

Peace of Mind: Independent, third-party energy raters randomly inspect and test selected homes and features during construction to confirm ENERGY PLUS qualifications are being followed.

Environmentally Responsible: Because Energy Plus qualified homes are designed to be more energy efficient, they help reduce your home's carbon footprint.

C&C to Present Check at Fireantz Military Appreciation Night

Caviness and Cates is proud to announce the success of their HomeFront Project. On Saturday February 5th Caviness and Cates will present a check to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which will take place at the FireAntz Military Appreciation Night Hockey Game at 7:30pm. This game is free to all active duty service members and their family. Free Tickets are available at the MWR Ticket office located in the mini mall at Ft. Bragg.

As a part of their commitment to support the community and military families, Caviness and Cates created the HomeFront Project: a pledge to donate a portion of their sales from each and every home sold in 2010 to help raise funds for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. A leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund provides support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. David A. Winter, Executive Vice President of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund states “the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is proud to have been supported by the very generous efforts of Caviness and Cates. We are truly grateful to be a part of charitable programs like this one that Caviness and Cates has put together, which increases the visibility and emphasizes the critical importance of supporting the men and women of the armed forces and their families.”

When speaking about the HomeFront Project and their contribution, owner Chris Cates states, “We're honored to be presenting a check for $30,400 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Caviness and Cates and our team are proud to be giving back to the community in such a large way. This donation would not be possible without our homebuyers; they are the ones who make the HomeFront Project possible.”
